Maybe it helps if i give some extra information about what i was able to find out so far.
It seems that the interface looses the ability to sense a cable.

I can confirm the problem on a LG X110 Netbook.
Setting dhcp in /etc/network/interfaces doesn't help.
I doubt it's an configuration error because the same configuration works with kernel...
